Intensive Russian Attacks Eliminate Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks overnight. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
